1982 Mercedes 280CE Manual Trans
Sporty Euro-spec 1982 280CE: This Fuel-injected coupe powered by the M110 twin cam inline 6 engine (185 Horsepower, 163 ft/lb) backed by a rare 4-speed manual transmission. 59,000 original miles (95,000km on the working odometer), power windows, A/C and period paint matched BBS wheels. A manual transmission was only offered on the European models and is seldom seen here in the U.S.; This offers the lightest weight and highest horsepower rating of any W123 chassis Mercedes.
A genuine Nardi steering wheel matches the interior wood nicely while the original vinyl & cloth interior still shows well. The factory sunroof is a great feature, and it works as it should.
The air conditioning system has been refurbished has been brought back to fully operational condition.
Minor rust in the rear wheel arches and lower quarter panel area was repaired with new panels carefully welded in at our restoration shop. Detailed photos of these repairs are available.
The paint shines beautifully and shows very well in the original Lapis Blue color.
This Mercedes starts easily with no smoke, it idles smoothly and has great power throughout the rpm range. An extensive tune-up and valve adjustment was completed this spring along with a rebuild of the shifter linkage. Brakes are excellent and were rebuilt 1500 miles ago.
A set of stock aluminum “bundt” wheels is also available for this car.
