1947 Mack Model 75 Fire Truck : Baytown Fire Department
Chief Roberts from Baytown Fire Department in the great State of Texas found our restoration gallery of the Troy Fireman’s Union’s 47 Mack and loved what he saw. He worked with us to develop a plan to restore this Mack pumper which has been in the Baytown Fire Department since new: What a piece of history!
We plan to strip off all the old lacquer paint and re-paint every surface on the exterior. Chrome will be re-chromed and all brass will be polished. The grille & running boards will be sandblasted and powdercoated for durability.
The 540 inch straight six engine runs, but barely. We plan to strip off all the ancillaries and give it an in-depth tune up after rebuilding the carb. ignition, water pump etc.
Check back often for updates on progress!
