1971 Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible
This handsome 1971 Rolls Royce Corniche convertible is one of less than two hundred built from their first year of production. It has 81,000 original miles currently showing on the odometer and lots of recent maintenance completed to make it an enjoyable driver for the spring.
The paint shows well in bright white and the body is straight with only a few minor blemishes shown in photos. The chocolate brown leather interior is original and in very good condition. A new original type Everflex top was just installed in January along with a thorough restoration of the top frame and underlayment. The power top raises and lowers nicely.
The 6.75 liter aluminum V8 starts easily and idles smooth with no smoke or irregular noises. A thorough tune-up was just completed including a complete rebuild of the dual SU carburetors, ignition system tune-up and fresh fluids. A new fuel pump, filter and hoses were also installed.
The braking and hydraulic systems are fully functional and benefit from a complete flush of the system, cleaning of the reservoir and a rebuild of some major components including brake calipers, hoses etc. The hydraulic system and accumulators are in good working order: The brake pedal feels good while stopping and suspension levels out properly (very important items to check on a vintage Rolls Royce).
These early “chrome bumper” cars were produced only from 1971-73 and few are left in good condition. You certainly won’t see another one like it at the cars n coffee event or at the country club.
This is a rare opportunity to own a classy vintage car once only available to the rich and famous.
