1967 Pontiac LeMans

1967 Pontiac LeMans

This 67 Le Mans is the highly original car you’ve been looking for. Sold new at Bernie Anderson Pontiac in Eureka CA, it spent most of its life in California, having recently moved to the East Coast as an occasional summer driver. It has 89,000 miles on the working odometer and documentation is available (CA registrations, PHS documentation, protect-o-plate, receipts etc).
According to the PHS Docs the original options are as follows:
Montego Cream paint with Black Vinyl top and Gold interior.
Push-Button Radio
Rear Window Defogger
Luggage Lamp, Roof rail & reading lamps, Under-hood Lamp and Ign. lamp
Power Steering
Power Brakes
Soft Ray Tinted Windshield
Ride & Handling Package
2-Barrel 326 V8 with 2spd Automatic Transmission
Heavy Duty 5-blade fan and shroud

Body: Wearing much of its original lacquer paint; It shines nicely and shows minimal wear. Some chips are visible on the nose and throughout the body as shown in pics. A few spots have been touched up with a brush over the years to seal the chips. I have found no rust on this car while checking it over very thoroughly, and there is no evidence of accident damage or body repairs anywhere that I have seen. The trunk is very clean and I believe the spatter paint to be original. The gasket leaks slightly and allows some water in when washing the car: This has led to a small amount of surface rust under the rubber mat as shown in pics. The car looks great in person, and I would not re-paint it for many more years.

Interior: All original with the exception of a new carpet and a custom center console which is only fastened to the carpet with Velcro strips (removes in seconds). The seats, headliner and door panels are in great shape with no major flaws. No cracks in the dash, all gauges function properly and an original type clock has been added to replace the delete plate. All locks and window regulators work as they should. An original Delco radio is included with the sale.

Engine Bay: The numbers matching 326 is present and running great. No smoke on start up; it idles smoothly and has great power throughout the RPM range. An edelbrock aluminum intake has been added with a 4-barrel carb, chrome valve covers and air cleaner. All original parts are included in boxes along with the original CA Smog pump setup in excellent shape. The power-glide transmission shifts well and does not slip. The rear axle has been upgraded with an auburn clutch type limited slip differential (posi).

Undercarriage & frame: Original paint and undercoating can be seen. Aside from some very light surface rust, the undercarriage on this car is in amazing condition. Wheel wells and rockers are excellent and the frame & suspension are also in great shape. No scale, no sloppy undercoating: totally untouched and original.

Mechanical: Steering is tight, brakes function well and have been recently rebuilt. Tires are nearly new and the car runs, drives and stops as it should. Driven 300 trouble-free miles in the past month.

This is a turn-Key car and certainly one of the nicest original LeMans available.
