This solid 1967 GTO arrived at our shop as a stalled restoration project with a very solid Texas body. The owner came with a plan: A Finely-tuned restomod with over 500hp and modern handling.
We have installed a complete Hotchkiss Stage 2 suspension kit which includes tubular control arms, larger sway bars, lowering springs and QA1 shocks. Stopping is handled by The Right Stuff Inc Big brake kit and Unisteer rack & pinion steering conversion turns 17″ Rallye II alloy wheels with Nitto NT555 tires.
Power comes from a custom-tuned LS7 from a 2008 Corvette Z06 breathing through Kooks long-tube stainless headers and a full stainless magnaflow exhaust with X pipe; Backed by a Tremec TKO600 5-speed transmission. The rear axle was upgraded to a GM 12-bolt with 3.55 gears, Eaton gear-type limited slip, Moser axle shafts & high strength cover.
The interior is a combination of classic and modern: with Dakota Digital gauges, later style center console and stock patterned upholstery with modern touches from Legendary Interiors. A power window conversion was installed using chrome BMW style switches in the console. The climate control system was upgraded with a modern A/C compressor and all new components to keep this black car’s passengers cool on hot days.
