1966 Chevy Impala SS Convertible
This is a frame off, no detail overlooked, 1966 Impala SS. Brought into the 21st Century through the hands of a man who built the car for his beloved wife. Cost be damned! He wanted the best for her. As is often the case, the car lives beyond the intended. The only reason for it being offered for sale at this time.
Gorgeous Marina blue exterior, with a tastefully chosen blue convertible top, and black bucket seat interior. The 327 was totally rebuilt with a bit more camshaft, 194 valve “camel hump” heads, and an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and carb. All engine accessories are spun through a serpentine belt system, and a new electronic ignition aids in touching off the air fuel mixture. After combustion, the gases exhale through a Flowmaster dual exhaust with a throaty note. Music to any hot rodders ears. The power is transferred through a built 200r4, 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, for an enhanced highway driving experience. A 12 bolt 373 geared posi rear puts the power to the rear tires. The builder went so far as to chrome the entire rear, right out to the drums. What a nice touch!
Gone are the outdated suspension components, replaced with Air Ride Technologies patented Ridetech system. Complete with 2 air compressors, a stainless steel tank, 3 programmable ride height positions, and the latest in tubular front control arms, rear suspension links, and larger sway bars.
It has Power front disc brakes, Power steering, and an Ididit tilt column. Classic looking 5 spoke polished aluminum rims are wrapped in B.F. Goodrich redline radials, further enhancing the ride and style of this beauty.
You may note that this was an original AC car, by the ducts in the dash. There is a late model compressor already in place, and we have the original AC/ heater box that can be bolted back in place if you desire to make the AC functional again.
The bumpers, grill, door handles, etc., are all in tip top shape. No need need to spend a couple of thousand dollars re chroming them.
