We picked up this 1958 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside as a body donor for our 2007 GM Performance Silverado SEMA truck, but ultimately decided that this was too nice of a running, driving truck to pull apart and mate to that frame and drivetrain.
We are now offering this solid, running and driving Fleetside pickup as a complete vehicle. The truck can be used as-is, but thanks to its solid cab and box would be a good candidate for a complete restoration or resto-mod. In addition to the Fleetside box, this truck is equipped with the desirable Deluxe cab.
This particular Apache is the "big back window", short box fleetside model, making it even more sought after. The chassis has been overhauled, with new brakes, brake and fuel lines, shocks, etc. With a 350 cubic inch chevy engine, and a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive, this truck is comfortable around town, or on the highway. There appears to have been little done in the way of body and paint work over its lifetime, leaving the exterior vastly original.
Some rust is present in the cab corners and the integrated running boards, but on the whole the truck is very solid. We drove the truck from our facility in Troy to the Adirondack Nationals in Lake George to join our recently completed Pontiac Catalina in our booth.
